Acer Aspire 5532 laptop

My brand new Acer Aspire 5532 is a great value for a college student like me, with a 2GHz AMD Athlon Processor, 2GB of RAM, 320 GB hard drive, 15.6 inch display and an ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics card, it is more than sufficient for my programming practice and multimedia needs.

The $400 price tag to me was a really good deal, I dare say it was a steal. The Windows 7 interface was a breeze for me, it is easy to navigate and the backward compatibility is a great feature that is quite useful. The laptop itself is not on the heavy side but it is not the lightest 15 inch laptop I have come across.

The laptop has a modern look but still shows that it means business. The laptop comes with a DVD-RAM drive capable of burning CD's and DVD's at ultra speed. Programs don't move with lightning fast speed but they show no form of noticeable lag so I am quite happy with the performance.

The cooling system seems to be adequate for the laptop but I wouldn't suggest pushing it to its limits as it regards operating temperature. Support for the laptop is great, I am from Jamaica and I got a six month replacement warranty and 3 year part replacement warranty included in the $400 price tag and it's an Acer so there is pretty much support for it anywhere. The brand is known for durability and reliability so if there is need for me to move up to a next Acer it would be quite easy for me to refurbish this one and sell it quickly.

All in all I am satisfied with my Acer laptop and my next laptop will be Acer.
