Asus N81VP screen
I have an Asus N81VP. I highly recommend this laptop as it performs very well with little cons.
This laptop offers good balanced performance. I got it because of it is able to play many games with good settings but is not actually a gaming laptop. It comes with 4 gb of RAM, has a 2.66 GHz core 2 duo, 320 GB hdd, and a 14” HD GL(LED) display, so it is pretty fast. It also comes with Windows Vista installed and supports Windows 7. I have Windows 7 64 bit installed and it works great. I previously owned another Asus laptop with very bad heat problems, so it would heat up very easily and make typing uncomfortable.
This model, however, has no such problems and is amazing at how cool it is, even when under stress. The speakers are average as with most laptops, so I recommend using external speakers. The only problem I know of is the keyboard: sometimes the keyboard is not very responsive and you will find that some letters do not show up when you type.
It does not happen very often, and when you familiarize yourself with the keyboard, it should not be that much of a problem. I have typed this review without any problems, so it’s probably just getting used to typing on this keyboard. Another problem is when the laptop comes out of standby. Sometimes it will freeze or be unresponsive for a few seconds. The area where the heat comes out of is not very well thought out in my opinion. It is right next to where you would use a mouse, so if the laptop is expelling a lot of heat, that heat will warm up your hand. But on cold days it’s great! Other than these minor problems, this laptop is great.
I have had it for about 3 years so far with no problems and would definitely buy another Asus laptop again.
